The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change crew of scientists report there has been almost a fifty-percent increase in the number of disasters in relation to climate since the year 2000. The study consisted of sixteen years starting from 2000 to 2016.
In other reports, due to global warming, over one million senior citizens worldwide over the age of sixty-five were exposed to heat waves. The study proves that with increasing temperatures all over the world, it has slowed down economic productivity and labor losses. The estimated loss of labor in the U.S. alone is well over one billion dollars in the year of 2016.
Scientists carrying out the study say the effect that humans have wit weather changes may be irreversible at this point. Human pollution is now affecting our human health around the world. If everyone gets on board with saving our earth as a whole, it could make life better for the future.
