Kanye West And His “Slave” Comments

Kanye West is stirring up the media with his explanation of “Free Thought” and “Slavery” comments. He was having a conversation with Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere on TMZ, about his recent photo with him wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. They asked him what prompted him to do that? Kanye says, ”We are taught how to think. We are taught how to feel”. He said he felt freedom in doing something people tell you that not to do.

For the past couple of weeks, Mr. West has been making headlines due to him speaking freely on his personal views. Last week, he debuted a song that to many, was a dig at Ebro Darden of Hot 97. In a tweet, Kanye said that the song, Lift Yourself, would give Ebro all of the answers he was looking to gain.

Kanye West In Hot Water Over Slave Comments

In a “TMZ live” conversation, Kanye states he feels that Black people have been imprisoning themselves mentally. How? By focusing on Slavery for over 400 years. Also, he believes Black people have chosen to focus on slavery for this long. On the live broadcast, Van, from TMZ was sure to speak his mind to Kanye about the incident. You can see the episode here.

However, Kanye West admits he loves Trump. He also explained how he doesn’t understand how so many rappers use “Trump” as an idol in their lyrics, but as soon as he gets into office, they don’t like him anymore.

Despite the controversial Slavery comments that West stated on TMZ, Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted says “Kanye has been and is a very important part of our strategy and has been a fantastic creator.” There are plans to talk to Kanye about his statements. However, they declined to answer any questions involving the Slavery comments.
