Eva Longoria Set To Star In New Dora Movie

Dora the Explorer fans rejoice! She is coming to the big screen with all of her jungle pals and backpack. As an added bonus, according to recent reports, Eva Longoria is on board to join the cast as well. Paramount Pictures are the ones producing the live-action film on the character that comes on the wildly popular Nickelodeon TV station.

The movie is currently in production in Australia, and according to reports, so far so good. However, James Bobin is directing the film, and Kristin Burr is producing the movie.

The person playing the title character is Isabela Moner. Others on the call sheet are Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Adriana Barraza and Temuera Morrison.

The movie is about Dora, a young woman who as a child, would spend time with her parents exploring the animals of the jungle. However, now she must partake in a completely different adventure, making it through high school. Always on the go, Dora quickly leads her best friend Boots, her cousin Diego, and a group of fun-going teen on an adventure. However, she has to save her parents. Also, she will have to solve the mystery of what happened to the lost Inca civilization.

Eva Longoria will be playing the role of Elena, Dora’s mother.

Paramount plans to have the movie in theaters Aug. 2, 2019. Companies who have involvement with the film are Nickelodeon, the Paramount players, and Walden Media.

For eight season, Eva Longoria was on the comedic soap opera, Desperate Housewives on ABC. She was on the movie In a world, and recently, Overboard. Eva is currently in Dog Days, from LD Entertainment. She has her own production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Longoria is also one of the executive producers for the new ABC drama Grand Hotel. Her reps at the moment are CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
