Avril Lavigne Speaks On Clone Rumors

Avril Lavigne has finally chosen to speak out about the conspiracy theory of her being dead and replaced. Known for hits such as “Sk8er Boi” and “Complicated,” she has come saying that she is indeed alive and not a replacement.

During an interview with Australia’s KISS 1065, they asked her if she laughs at the rumors about her being a clone. She told them yea. There are people who don’t believe she is the real her, and that it is weird.

The rumors came about after the death of her grandfather in 2003. The singer was very close to her grandfather, and was sad like anyone would be about losing someone so dear to them. So, for some reason, conspiracy theorist came up the story that he took her own life. Following the fake death rumors, they were saying that a doppelganger took her place.

Avril Lavigne Is Not A Clone

According to reports, the replacement of Avril was a girl by the name,e of Melissa Vandella. Reports from E! News say that the wild allegations came from Brazil. However, due to social media, the fake news spread like wildfire. Some fans went as far to say that the singer was using cryptic messages in her songs to reveal that the Real Avril was dead. However, in 2017, the theory took a turn. One user was able to point out the Vandella was not Avril.

Avril Lavigne was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2014. In recent years, she has spoken about her battle with the disease. It was also the cause for her to leave the spotlight. On Twitter, the singer went on to thank her fans for their support and patience as she works on putting together new music and an album. She goes on to say that the recovery is a long process. However, she wants whatever she puts out to be perfect.
