It’s been a decade since Coca-Cola has come out with a new flavor. However, on Friday, the company made the announcement that Orange Vanilla Coke and Orange Vanilla Coke Zero Sugar will be making their debut later in February.
About a year ago, Coca-Cola began exploring new ideas and flavors to add with classic cola. According to Coca-Cola trademark brand director Kate Carpenter, they were wanting something similar to Coke Zero Sugar.
According to Carpenter, they had not touched their flavors when it comes to n innovation point. They weren’t sending out messaging or making new marketing strategies. However, their flavor portfolio was growing significantly.
Carpenter says that when it comes to the sales of their flavored Coca-Coal beverage, the number grew 2%. For them, this was amazing for their third quarter because they did so without any extra marketing. Americans are always on the search for the next big thing. Many in the U.S. no longer drink soda every day due to new diet fads. According to reports from last year, Diet Coke was able to jump-start sales after releasing four new flavors. The flavors include Feisty Cherry and Twisted Mango.
Coca-Cola Introduces New Drink And People Are Here For It!
After a successful taste teste in Canda, the company chose the new flavor Orange Vanilla. There were several other flavors available in the country during the time of the testing. After further testing, Coca-Cola was able to note that people were drawn to an unexpected familiarity when it came to the soda.
However, taste testers at Business Insider were able to confirm the new drink was pretty delicious. They say that it reminds them of Creamsicle-esque cola that tastes similar to Fanta. The orange flavor in the drink does clash with the classic flavor of Coke. The taste is also smooth.
