Kobe Bryant Speaks On Shaq During Convention

It’s been 15 years since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal were on a team together. However, true grudges never die.

During an interview, Kobe was saying that their team may have won more championships if O’Neal had worked harder during the nine seasons on the Los Angles Lakers.

He claims that Shaquille wasn’t in the gym enough, and if he was, he may have 12 rings. The conversation came about during an insurance company’s convention in Las Vegas. Though some may think he was being negative, Kobe had positive things to say about O’Neal.

Bryant believes that if Shaq were in the gym more, he would have been the greatest of all time. When Kobe was giving the interview on his former fellow player, he did so behind “Transformers” memorabilia. According to Bryant, Shaq was phenomenal.

Though he has talked to Shaq many times about him doing better, they were never able to see eye-to-eye. Actually, they were even in a fistfight with each other over Bryant sentiments.

However, Shaq isn’t one to back down.

“U woulda had twelve if u passed the ball more especially in the finals against the pistons #facts,” he commented on an Instagram post, referring to the 2004 NBA Finals that saw the Lakers lose to the Detroit Pistons. “You don’t get statues by not working hard.”

From 2000-2002, the two were able to win three NBA titles together while playing for the Lakers. However, it was rare to see the two getting along. With them both having bold personalities, their differing playing styles would ofter work against the whole team.

Their feud was so enticing to folks, that their former Lakers coach Phil Jackson went on to write a book about it.

However, Shaq is doing well since leaving the court. Not only is he an analyst for “Inside the NBA,” but he is also the face for brands like Gold Bond and The General Insurance.
