Jamie Spears, the father of Britney Spears, is no longer her conservator after holding the position for 11 years. It was Jamie’s decision to step down. Her new conservator will be Jodi Montgomery, who is her care manager.
Britney wasn’t there for Monday’s hearing. However, members of her legal team were there. Also, an attorney for Kevin Federline was at the hearing. Per a request from Britney’s lawyer, the courtroom was cleared due to the possibility of sensitive medial information coming up. Also, because there would discussions involving Britney’s children with ex-husband, Kevin Federline. They share to sons, 13-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden, 12.
According to reps, nothing will change in Britney’s life when it comes to having a new conservator. Jamie will continue to receive updates on Britney. Also, Jamie will continue to protect her against those looking to cause his daughter harm.
Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ Father, Will No Longer Be Her Conservator
The reason for Jamie stepping down from his position was due to health reasons. Though he has been in and out of the hospital with colon issues, he is also currently under investigation for child abuse. Those within their circle believe the latter problem is why Jamie chose to file paperwork after claims of battery against his grandson, Sean.
One of Federline’s lawyers was able to confirm that his client had to file a police report Aug. 24 after the incident. According to Mark Vincent Kaplan, a disagreement occurred while Britney and her kids were visiting her father. There are reports claiming that Jamie was violently shaking Sean after breaking down a bedroom door.
The alleged altercation led to their father asking a judge to amend a previous 50/50 custody agreement that was in place. According to statements from Federline, he has been taking care of the boys 90 percent of the time and wants a judge to make the arrangement between the former couple legal.
